(the) Volstead Act

(the) Volstead Act
the name usually used to refer to the United States National Prohibition Act passed by the US ↑Congress in 1919 to introduce the laws relating to Prohibition. It was named after US Congressman Andrew Volstead of ↑Minnesota who began it. The Act and Prohibition were ended in 1933.
